Laval families are invited to an-end-of summer event full of fresh air and plenty of activities at Laval's fabled Centre de la Nature.
Unlike last year, when the festivities were cancelled because of rain, a contingency plan will provide for many activities to take place indoors, in the giant tent, according to Julie Tremblay of Ville de Laval. "We'll have to rearrange the schedule but we'll make sure that there will be something for everyone."
The fun begins at 10:00 am, closing time is 6:00 pm. Music to suit all tastes, gymnastics, acrobatics, and circus acts will delight all ages. There will be plenty for children to do throughout the day with lots of games and demonstrations, including the usually popular clowns and jugglers. Inflatable games, face-painting, pony rides, canoeing and kayaking will all be available.
For mayor Gilles Vaillancourt the family festival has truly become a Laval tradition. "It has become impossible to think of Labour Day weekend without thinking of family day."
As at the last edition of the Family Festival in 2005, organizers are anticipating a crowd of at least 55,000. For more information: (450) 978-8000 or
