Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors launches Laval branch: more recreational-educational-health services for adults 50 +
The Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors will be launching a new branch in Chomedey, Thursday, September 6, at 7:00 pm.
Entitled "Discover Something New in Chomedey for Adults 50 +", this significant event in community action by and for English-speaking residents of Laval in general, and Chomedey in particular, represents a continuation of the presence and involvement of Montreal's Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors on Laval island.

"Our intentions are to offer Laval residents 50+ an extensive program of activities and projects that are sure to please," says spokesperson Claire Nudel.

Taking up residence at Young Israel of Chomedey Synagogue, the new venture will feature weekly day and evening activities in fitness, yogalates, watercolours, mah jongg, bridge, digital photography, scrapbooking, beading, and computers. Also on the agenda for 2007-2008 is an evening lecture series on International Studies.

"At our fall launch, we'll provide more extensive information, explain our community mission, and describe some of the other exciting programs planned for the coming season," Mrs. Nudel told Courrier Laval Weekly News in a telephone interview.

"The September 6th celebration will be an exciting opportunity for people of Laval 50 and older to meet new acquaintances, renew contact with old friends, and start making new ones," Mrs. Nudel promises, her voice full of enthusiasm for the prospects ahead.

If your curiosity is aroused, join Mrs. Nudel and friends for what appears to be a pleasant evening of information and good fun, with entertainment by 'The Absolutes' certain to make the gathering even more memorable.

The new organization, a division of the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors, is headed by Claire Nudel, who may be reached for further information at (450) 978-7056, and by e-mail at claire.nudel@cummingscentre.org The Young Israel of Chomedey Syngagoue, the home of this new group, is located at 1025 Elizabeth, in Chomedey.
