Public Hearing on the Status of Seniors
Friday, September 21
The Place des Ainés, situated at 435 Curé-Labelle Blvd. in Chomedey, will be the venue for a public hearing on the status of seniors to be held this coming Friday, September 21.
The hearing is being held under the auspices of Mme Blais, the minister responsible for the status of seniors, and her two co-chairs, Mrs. Sheila Goldbloom and Dr. Rejean Hebert. The aim of day at the Place des Ainés is to exchange views on family, society, and the relationship of seniors to society.

Registrations for the hearing will begin at 7:30 am, followed by an address by Minister Blais, and the presentation of briefs by about 15 individuals and groups.

In preparation for this hearing, Chomedey MNA Guy Ouellette met with a group of thirty people on September 6 at his riding office, where a broad-based discussion on issues of concern to seniors took place.

Also on September 6, Mr. Ouellette made a special visit to the Young Israel of Chomedey Synagogue where he met with seniors' groups, inviting them to participate in the September 21 public hearing on the status of seniors.

"You are an important part of society and you must become involved in the decision-making process that affects your living conditions and standard of living," Mr. Ouellette told the seniors with whom he met.
