Laval Firefighters warm their hearts at Green Bay's Lambeau Field
A group of Laval firefighters lived a life-long dream of attending an NFL game last weekend, when they took in the Packers/Bears game in Green Bay. On arrival by bus from Chicago, the 22 football fans from Laval were in for a real treat as Packer equipment manager Gordon Batty gave the group a guided tour of famous and fabled Lambeau Field, including the luxurious Packer locker room and rest and recreation centre. Batty, affectionately nicknamed 'Red', is a former Montrealer who once worked for the Alouettes before moving to the Houston Oilers, ending up in Green Bay in 1994. Despite the Packers 27-20 loss, the group enjoyed an unforgettable experience and moments of sheer elation they will hold near and dear to their hearts for the rest of their lives. With the group are Richard Carpentier, head of the Laval Firefighters Association, Courrier Laval sports editor Sylvain Lamarre, and Courrier Laval lead photographer Martin Alarie. (Syl).
