Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital honours Michael Feir & Ted Oberfeld
The JRH Research Centre has become the Michael Feil & Ted Oberfeld Centre, in honour of the two co-chairmen of the fund-raising campaigns held for the hospital's foundation. Hospital officials made the announcement at the appreciation evening held this past week.
In the past six years, golf tournaments organized by Michael Feil and Ted Oberfeld raised $2.4 for the JRH Foundation, funneling $400,000 a year into research projects related to rehabilitation medicine, treatment, and services.

JRH director-general André Ibghy cited the institution’s Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Research Centre (CRIR) as the country’s largest and most important facility of its type, suggesting that it might even be the leader in this area of medical research in all of North America.

The research facility is supported by a consortium of nine establishments, including the University of Montreal, the University of Quebec at Montreal (UQAM), and McGill.
Apart from the contribution made by the JRH Foundation, the clinical research centre is backed by the Canadian Fund for Innovation, the Quebec Fund for Health Research, and the universities. On an annual basis, the centre is run on a budget of $3 million.

A partner of the Cité de la biotechnologie et de la santé humaine (Biotechnology and Human Health City), the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital is a weather vane and leading trend setter in bio-health and bio-medical research, attracting the attention of many enterprises who operate in the field.
