Last weekend about 7,000 people were vaccinated at Collège Montmorency.
7,000 vaccinations in three days
The first influenza vaccination clinic by appointment, organized at Collège Montmorency by the Centre de santé et services sociaux (CSSS) de Laval (Health and Social Services Centre of Laval), and held November 10, 11, and 12 resulted in the immunization of 7,000 participants.
The clinic represents the first of three steps in a plan of action that aims to increase protection against influenza. Next year, the CSSS foresees holding a series of clinics without appointment.
Everyone is reminded that this is the time to get immunized, something that can be done at a CLSC or through your family doctor. The vaccination is free for people who are more susceptible to catching the flu: ages 60 and up, ages 6 months and over who suffer from chronic health problems, children six to 23 months, the immediate circles of all these people, as well as pregnant women who are at risk.
