Magic Touch at Laval Liberty High School
Theatre Concentration Program presents first play
The New Theatre Concentration program of Laval Liberty High School presents its very first play this coming Thursday and Friday, November 29 and 30, at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, December 1, at 2:00 pm, in the school aduditorium, 3200 Souvenir Boulevard.
"We're excited, to say the least," Liberty's Theatre Arts Consultant, Stephanie Pitsiladis told Courrier Laval. "We've waited a long time for this new dimension of the arts at Laval Liberty and we're looking forward to giving the families and friends of the school their money's worth at all three performances," added Ms. Pitsiladis, a graduate of Western Laval High School (predecessor of Laval Liberty) and an accomplished actress in her own right, having performed in Toronto, Broadway and other venues, some of them local, as recently as this past month.
The show,
"Magic Touch is a tale inspired by the movie Edward Scissorhands," Ms. Pitsiladis noted, adding that the script was written by the theatre concentration students, with her help.
"With professional lights, sound, costumes and sets, you are sure to be swept away to the vibrant streets of Sunnydale as it was in the late sixties/early seventies," the effervescent actress/producer/director explained.

"We’re hoping to leave the audiences speechless with all the razzle dazzle of lots of special special effects. This comedy with a serious twist, is sure to leave you wanting more," Mrs. Pitsiladis concluded.
English theatre alive and well in Laval
You don't have to go very far to enjoy some quality entertainment, in English, in Laval.
If last year's highly successful production of Guys and Dolls at Liberty was any indication of the quality of live theatre the school can produce, you're in for another treat in Magic Touch. Many of the same dynamics were used to mount 'Magic Touch', including the artistic contribution that came from Stephanie Pitsiladis, who was also part of the team that produced Guys and Dolls.

To take a look at what dedicated students, teachers, and consultants in public schools can bring to life, invest some time this coming weekend and take in Magic Touch at Laval Liberty High.
