Holy Name of Jesus Parish to hold gala fund-raiser for 2008 World Youth Days
Keeping the spirit growing. The Holy Name Christmas Concert was a great success, showcasing the talents of parishioners in over 20 different acts of all ages, ranging from young children to seniors. The quality and variety of the performances was impressive: music, dance, humour, and the delightful Christmas pageant performed by the children from an original script by Sara Vinci & Luisa Ciccone. Attendance was outstanding, at about 250, and many requests were made to establish this as an annual event. Over $1000 was raised thanks to all who worked so hard, especially Sal Santangelo (whose idea this was), members of the Social Committee, emcee Nick Furfaro, and many others. Holy Name of Jesus Parish to hold gala fund-raiser for 2008 World Youth Days
Holy Name of Jesus, Laval’s only English-speaking Roman Catholic Church, will be holding a gala evening Saturday, February 2, for the benefit of young people of the parish attending World Youth days 2008 in Sydney, Australia.
“This is a good opportunity for parishioners and friends to contribute to a great cause,” says Holy name’s Youth Coordinator, Christopher Borrelli. “These youth days are a very important part of the exercise of the faith for some of our parish’s young people,” Mr. Borrelli explains, adding that although the international gathering is an important part of the spiritual growth of Catholic Youth, it is an expensive proposition which requires assistance from others.

The gala, which will take place at the Palace Reception hall at 1717 Le Corbusier Boulevard in Laval, will be a grand affair with all the trimmings – food, drink and entertainment.

The $60 admission for adults includes dinner, drinks during the meal and entertainment. There will be a cash bar after dinner. Children 12 and under can attend for $30.

“Join us for a wonderful evening of dining and dancing, in an atmosphere of friendship, fun, laughter and enjoyable conversation,” concludes Christopher Borrelli, who can be reached at (450) 969-1448 or at chrisborrelli@hotmail.com for more information.
