Chanukah at Jewish Women International of Canada, Chomedey Chapter
The Chomedey Chapter of Jewish Women International of Canada (JWIC) had a wonderful Chanukah Party, with gift exchange and light supper provided by members, says spokesperson Sheila Kirstenberg.
The celebration, enjoyed by all members, was made special by the presence of Laval-Les Îles federal MP Raymonde Folco.
Mrs. Folco will also be the guest speaker at the group's first meeting of 2008, on January 16, starting at 8:00 pm, at Young Israel of Chomedey Synagogue, 1025 Elizabeth, just a short walk north of Notre Dame Boulevard.
"Mrs. Folco will speak to us about her role as the federal representative for the riding of Laval-Les Îles," says Mrs. Kirstenberg, adding that the presentation will include time for the long-serving MP to answer questions from members and friends of the JWIC Chomedey Chapter.
"We ask for a $5 donation to help defray the costs of the event," Mrs. Kirstenberg explains, noting that refreshments will be served.
