Laval Women's Group celebrates Silver Anniversary of community service and social commitment

Tomorrow, February 11, 2008, the Laval Women’s Group will celebrate its 25th Anniversary with a luncheon at La Belle Elene Restaurant in Laval.

Over the last quarter century this mainstay of community organizations in our city has become an important support group for many English-speaking women, giving them a unique opportunity to meet, help each other and give back to the community.

Members share companionship, friendship and solidarity with each other, welcoming women of all backgrounds, different languages and many faiths in a variety of socio-cultural activities, fitness programs and many more endeavours too numerous to list. Presently numbering 114, members often work toward community reach-out programs that assist the needy, especially children, in Laval, Greater Montreal and in fact, the world, having at times put together charitable projects for youngsters in various overseas destinations.
