Golda Meir (Chomedey) Hadassah-WIZO to visit Emet Gallery's
Seeking Sacred Space Exhibit
"This coming Wednesday, February 20, we will have a guided tour of the Emet Gallery's Makom: Seeking Sacred Space Exhibition ," says Evie Applebee, founder and current president of the Chomedey Chapter of Hadassah-WIZO. The exhibition examines the historical traces of Montreal's Jewish community from the mid 1800's and early 1900's, going back to the first synagogues near the main, which is now Chinatown.
"We're looking forward to a moving experience, one which will put us in touch with some of the special roots laid down by people who came before us. We'll also be privileged to explore some of the significant paths carved in Montreal culture and society by these courageous individuals," Mrs. Applebee, no stranger to courage and community commitment herself, told Courrier Laval.
Following the tour, the group will be going to lunch together. "It will be a good opportunity to share some of the impressions we gathered at the gallery," Mrs. Applebee concluded. More information: (450) 681-9342.
