Golda's Golden Girls enjoying lunch, following their recent visit to the Emet Art Gallery, where they were given a guided tour of the Makom: Seeking Sacred Space Exhibition . The exhibition showcases some of the history of Montreal's Jewish community from the mid 1800's and early 1900's, going back to the first synagogues near the main, which is now Chinatown.
"We had an absolutely marvelous time. It was a moving experience, one which put us in touch with some of the special roots planted by people who came before us. As we expected, we were privileged to share, indirectly, in some of the achievements made by many exceptional people of the past," Mrs. Applebee, founder and current president of the Golda Meir (Chomedey) Chapter of Montreal-Hadassah-WIZO, told Courrier Laval.
