Graffiti is not art! Far from it!
Have you taken a walk in your neighbourhood and noticed the graffiti, everywhere?

Over the past few years, Laval, Chomedey in particular, has been increasingly targeted by graffiti vandals. Some tags are rude, others are just disgusting. Racial slurs are the worst. Do you not find this disturbing?

In an effort to get our city cleaned up, I called Ville de Laval’s service line 311, to see who is responsible for cleaning this. This is what I found.

To get graffiti cleaned up on city property (i.e. street signs, parks, arenas, and other municipal buildings) call (450) 978-8000 or 311 and give the location such as Parc Pie X on the chalet.

For property belonging to the STL: (450) 688-6520. This includes bus shelters, metro stations and benches at bus stops.

Have you spotted something nasty on a mailbox? To get it cleaned up call Canada Post toll free 1-800-565-2633. The representatives are very friendly and helpful.

To ask for the removal of inappropriate markings on Bell Canada boxes, you can call 611 from a Bell phone (landline, cell, or payphone). From any other phone, call (450) 310-BELL / 310-2355. Bell Canada’s representatives are harder to get to, but please persevere! Together let’s get our city cleaned up and show vandals that graffiti isn’t art, it’s messy and ugly.
