Chomedey Cummings Centre for 50 +
Spring has sprung at the Young Israel of Chomedey with a cornucopia of interesting and fun courses waiting to be explored within the Chomedey Cummings Centre 50+. Get fit and into shape with classes that include Fitness, Yogalates and Line Dancing, or explore your artistic side with Watercolours, Pastels, Calligraphy and Beading classes offered. Book Discussions, with the 1st one coming up May 5th 7:00 p.m. exploring the novel Sunflower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. Learn to converse “a la francaise” in a new French Conversation course or become skilled in the basics of Mah Jongg.

On May 15th at 1:00p.m. we will open our doors to our Social Drop in Centre for members of Cummings Centre. The focus will be on having a place to play board games, such as Scrabble, Bridge, Chess, Mah Jongg, etc. For more information call Claire @ 450-978-7056.

Gevurah Club of Chomedey's Cummings Centre For 50 +
The ladies and gentlemen of the Gevurah Club of Chomedey, one of the city's longest-serving group for seniors, meet every Tuesday, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Young Israel of Chomedey Synagogue, 1025 Elizabeth. "We have great fun, with cards, bingo, visiting speakers and of course, delicious refreshments. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, April 30th. Our guest speaker will be Dale Bonnycastle from the MAB-MacKay Rehabilitation Center. Dale Bonnycastle is an audiologist with 30 years of experience in the field. She holds a master's degree from McGill University in Human Communication Disorders. Dale has worked in hospital settings but has been an employee of the MAB-MacKay Rehabilitation Center since 1990. Her particular interests are on the psycho-social effects of hearing loss and how people learn to cope and deal with hearing loss. Our meeting starts at 12:30 PM and guest speaker at 1:30 PM. Line Dancing
Tuesday mornings. A new Beginners Class starts at 9:00 followed by the regular class at 10:00 to 11:30. This mentally and physically stimulating activity is for all (men too!) - no previous experience necessary. Experienced and dedicated teachers lead the way. Torah Academy of Laval
Sunday classes at the Centre du Sablon, 10:00am - 12:00 noon. Jewish children learn about their heritage and traditions. On different age-appropriate levels, the children learn to read and write Hebrew, enjoy arts and crafts and many other activities too numerous to mention. Registration for Torah Academy Camp is now open! The camp runs from June 23 to August. Be a part of it! The Centre is preparing it's 8th annual golf tournament fundraiser, next Wednesday, June 4th. Our donation service as an urgent need for volunteers to solicit potential doners.
