Objective:1,200 donations
35th blood drive for Lavallers
The most important blood drive in Canada, for Laval residents, will take place next Friday, September 5, from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm, at the Centre sportif Bois-de-Boulogne.
Since its start-up, the Laval blood drive has registered a total of 44,886 blood donations. This year’s objective is 1,200 donations.
All citizens as well as all businesses can contribute toward reaching this objective and making a difference for those in the area who may be in need of a blood transfusion.
To give blood in Quebec, you must be at least 18 years or older, but there’s no age limit. Donors between the ages of 67 and 70, should not have given blood within the last two years, and new donors aged 61 and over must have a letter from their medical doctor, certifying that they are in good health and able to give blood.
People aged 71 and older should present a letter each year. A form letter is available, from all GLOBULE mobile donation units or blood donor centres or by telephoning 1-800-847-2525 or visiting
