Harmony for building stronger bridges
The “Harmony in our Cultural Communities” event of Monday November 24, at the Centre Du Sablon was a great success, with everyone benefiting in the knowledge of what it takes to live more harmoniously in our society. Father John Walsh, Rabbi Leigh Lerner and Father Lambros Kamperidis conveyed to the audience that the way to start building stronger bridges toward a better society of “harmony” is with communication, interaction, and a genuine interest in one another and our neighbours, and consideration for each other.
It was a very informative evening and perhaps made many realize that in our very busy lives, which we all have, we do not communicate and take the time to get to know one another better. We remain strangers, knowing someone only as 'neighbours on the block' but not much more than that. It kind of gets you thinking, doesn't it?
Special thanks go to Lily Percs who acted as a super moderator, and coordinator, and her husband Lester Percs who did a swell job of setting up all the audio and video for this event. Following the entertainment, door prizes were drawn, and refreshments were served, to end a wonderful evening.
Our next meeting we will celebrate our 47th birthday party at the Restaurant Casanova at 1205 Labelle Blvd. Chomedey on Wednesday Dec. 3, at 6:30 pm.
