The Ellie and Marilyn literary loop returns to action, and not a moment too soon
As the saying goes, You don't know what you have until you lose it!
And that's what some Laval families have been finding out since the end of December, when the Laval Multicultural Library's "Story Hour With Ellie & Marylin" was put on hold for a few months.

Was the popular Saturday morning children's reading series missed? You bet! I'm sure the children, ages 3 to 6, missed out on some quality learning and sharing experiences that would have brought them into the magical world of fun, flight, and fantasy created by the dynamic duo of Eleanor Tylbor and Marylin Silverman who have been reading to children at these Saturday morning sessions for several years.

But not to worry, the reading series is coming back, and it promises to deliver a whole slew of new and exciting stories that will enchant the youngsters every second Saturday of the month between now and June.

If you haven't yet met Ellie and Marilyn, you've got a treat coming. Regardless of your age, you'll get a real kick out of the way these two can take a simple children's story and raise it to an adventure of the imagination, creating for the listeners a world into which they can leap with the unbridled enthusiasm of the child's heart.

And why do these two talented and dynamic women reach out to youngsters and their families twice a-month when they could be doing myriad other things with their precious time? "Ah, it's just great fun for us. We love to see kids enjoying themselves having a good time with the stories we read," they've said in the past, following one of their renowned command performances in front of appreciative children and their parents or grandparents.

It's a simple truth, really. Give children a little bit of attention, speak to their receptive hearts, stimulate their ever-inquisitive minds, and reach into their yearning souls – that's the labour of love that Marylin Silverman and Eleanor Tylbor perform every time they welcome children to

their Story Hour.
Everyone is welcome
Would you like to see for yourself what this children's reading series is all about? Better still, would you like your little boy or girl to savour some literary delights? Your first opportunity is this coming Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 10:15 am, at the launch of the spring session of the Laval Multicultural Library's "Story Hour With Ellie & Marylin." Story readers Eleanor and Marilyn are looking forward to once more meeting and greeting young bibliophiles who've been with them before and welcoming newcomers - ages 3-6 - with some great stories that will be read out loud. Everyone has a fun time including the adults, who must accompany youngsters.

Grandparents and other family members who enjoy story reading are also welcome and encouranged to drop by.

Best of all - it's free, but spaces are limited, so please reserve a place for you and your child by contacting the Library at 450-978-5995. Please mention English Children's Story Hour when registering. You may also register in person at the library's information counter.

The Laval Multicultural Library is located at 1535 Chomedey Blvd. in Chomedey, just a short distance south of St-Martin Blvd.
