Chomedey Seniors Mini-Centre
This coming Thursday, March 22, 2007, Gazette columnist Aaron Derfel will speak on "Health Care in the 21st Century". The March program ends with a Musical Entertainment Afternoon, featuring Singer-Guitarist Danny Hartal, alias "Elvis Shmelvis", Thursday the 29th. Crestview Elementary School
As part of the Ecole en Santé network of schools, Crestview’s school based project for this year is “Taking Care of Me-A Healthy Body and A Healthy Mind!” 'The Nutritious Breakfast' is the culmination of the school's month-long “On the Move” project during which students enjoyed a variety of activities during school time such as: tubing, skating, Winter Carnival and the afternoon Health Breaks. They were also encouraged to participate in 30 minutes of daily physical activity at home instead of more sedentary activities such as television, computer, games. In March the school community is promoting good nutrition to further promote physical well being. 'The Nutritious Breakfast' - on Wednesday, March 28, will feed the school's 262 students of different cultures and diverse backgrounds. The breakfast is made possible by the very generous contributions of IGA Crevier in Ste-Dorothée and the Caisse Populaire Desjardins of Chomedey.
Golda Meir (Chomedey) Chapter of Hadassaah –WIZO
Following a visit from Reverend Darryl Gray on March 7th and a presentation on valuable tips for self-protection, defense against home invasions and security of the home in the owners absence by Lavcal Police officers Franco Di Gianova and Guy Sylvestre, members and friends will be taking a trip to the Saydie Bronfman Centre to see the play – 'I Am My Own Wife', this coming Wednesday afternoon, March 21. Laurier Senior High School
Genan Zahabi and Kevie Sousa, members IRS (Intelligent Responsible Students) group of the Cooperative Education Program at Laurier Senior High School proudly inform the community that their school was planning 30-Hour Famine to raise funds for organizations that help prevent famine in Africa and Asia. "It's going to be an amazing school community project which will bring students closer together. Teachers are going to help out, and they're going to serve all student participants breakfast on the Saturday morning," say Genan and Kevie. Also happening at the school is a 'Cabane a Sucre for all Secondary 5 students this coming Friday, March 23rd, and a couple of Fun Activity Days on March 29th, and April 2 for Secondary 3 and 4 students. "We also have a terrific surprise in store for the entire school community on Friday, March 30th," says principal Glenn Cuggy.
