Maurice Clermont wins second mandate
It wasn't nearly as substantial as in 2003 when he took 50% of the votes, Maurice Clermont was re-elected in Mille-Îles, scoring 40% and a margin of nearly 5,000 over a strong challenge from the ADQ's Pierre Tremblay, with 90% of the poles reporting.
Shortly after Mr. Clermont was declared re-elected, Mr. Clermont told Courrier Laval that the only negative aspect of the result is the reduction of his party to a minority position, although the Liberals were expected to form the next government.
