Chomdey Soccer Club side takes gold in Lac St-Louis 2007 National Indoor Soccer Tournament
Last weekend, in its first competition tournament in its three-year history, the Chomedey United U-9 (Under Nine) soccer side from the Chomedey Soccer Club went undefeated at the Lac St-Louis 2007 National Indoor Soccer Tournament.
Coach Costa Babalis's boys won three games to get to the Sunday finals, where they were full measure for a 3-1 gold medal domination of a team from Hull, Quebec.

In qualifying for the finals, United started slowly, squeaking out a first game 2-1 win, demolished the opposition 10-1 in the second game, and tuned up for the final with another close 2-1 third-round game.
Three-year adventure
Chomedey United, a competition level "A" team of kids not yet nine years of age, already has a history to be envied, with the majority of players having stuck together for the past three years, going undefeated their first outdoor summer season, following that up with only one loss the second summer.
In their first competitive indoor season this winter, in the U9 category, Chomedey United has performed brilliantly scoring 13 Wins, settling for only 3 ties and suffering just a single loss with one game remaining.

The boys are primed for the Indoor Winter Season playoffs which start at the end of April.
The summer season
This summer will be Chomedey United's third full season together as a competition team, playing in the U-9 "A" category. They are hoping and working for the same great success as they've have had in the past couple of years.
"We have a great group of kids who have dedicated themselves to this team, practicing and playing as hard and as best they can at all times," says manager Bruce Seltzer.

"Our phenomenal success," Mr. Seltzer adds, "is due in large part to a great group of parents who have made a big commitment to the progress of the team, on and off the field. We're very proud of what we've been able to accomplish in such a short time and we'll do everything we can to stay together for future competition."
