Did the annual NCAA national basketball tournament make you want to get out there and sink a few baskets in the manner of Florida Gators Al Horford or Ohio State Buckeyes Greg Oden?
If you would like to enhance your athletic skills related to one of the world's most popular sports with the hands-on help of expert coaches, experienced teachers, and professional players, then the summer basketball camp organized and conducted by Paul Stephens is the place for you.
"We have been running this camp quite successfully for the past four years," says Mr. Stephens, a Laval-based teacher and coach who has played and coached in a few basketball games of his own.
The personal credentials Mr. Stephens brings to the basketball camp include two years of professional work as an assistant coach with both the Montreal Matrix and the Montreal Royal of the American Basketball Association. He has also coached with Basketball Laval and in local high schools.
"We're very proud to have lined up members of the Montreal Royal professional basketball team to be on hand to offer tips to the young players who will be attending," Coach Stephens explains. The camp, he adds, is open to all young people, ages 7 to 17, with or without basketball-playing experience.
"Come join us in late June from the 25th to the 29th at Laval Liberty High School," Mr. Stephens invites. "You won't be disappointed," he concludes.
Laval Liberty High School is located at 3200 Souvenir Boulevard, just east of city hall.
