Two 'writers workshops' coming to the Laval Multicultural Library Wed. May 2, 2 pm to 4 pm, Tues. May 8, 7 pm to 9 pm, will focus on the writing of true, current, and life stories, says organizer Althea Charles. Readers-Writers Summer Workshop
Information meeting for the 18th annual Readers-Writers Summer Workshop – July 30 to August 17, 2007: this coming Wed. May 2, 7:30 pm, at Terry Fox School, 900 Av. Des Lacasse, Auteuil; and Thurs. May 3, 7 pm at St. Paul School Annex, 1305 De l'Assomption, Duvernay. Affectionately called 'Reading Camp' the hands-on project is designed for children of Kindergarten to Grade Six. An award-winning program, it gives children as young as five the opportunity to emerge as readers and writers, and Grade sixers the opportunity to hone reading and writing skills in preparation for junior high school. 'Lost in Oz' at Mother Teresa Junior High School
Mother Teresa Junior High School's theatrical and musical production of 'Lost in Oz' comes to the school's stage on Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12, 2007. Adapted and produced by teachers Jacques Tardiff, Monic Farrell, Annick Charon, Nadia Mazzone, Will Evans and Mary Anne Lapenna, the show will feature talented young people singing, dancing, and performing live music from some of Broadway's most famous and endearing musicals, all of it staged with sets and props designed by students themselves. Tickets are $10. The curtain rises at 7:30 pm for evening performances on May 11 and 12, and at 2:00 pm for the Saturday, May 12 matinee.
