Laurier Senior High School reaches out
Recently, something fantastic took place at Laurier Senior High School.
Over two dozen students and teachers gave their time to lend a helping hand for a worthy cause.
With the help of our spiritual animators and various members of the administrative staff, students were able to put on a cabane-a-sucre style dinner for those who are less fortunate, with the help of the Student Council who raised funds for the event.
The men and women who were our guests were brought to Laurier Senior High School by the Sisters of Charity in Montreal. The dinner continued a tradition that began several years ago at the school which was then known as Laval Catholic High.
Immediately after classes had ended for the day, students and teachers worked together to create a warm atmosphere and prepare a good meal that these men and women would hopefully enjoy, and it appears that they did.
While the meal was prepared a Mass was celebrated by Father Arruda in the school chapel, after which our guests sat down for and afternoon and early evening of delicious food served by the students themselves, and some wonderful entertainment provided by Special Education Technician Alan De Souza and Spiritual Animator Jan Hannan, with songs performed for the pleasure of our sixty-five guests who thoroughly enjoyed them.
