The Jireh Gospel Choir: singing with faith in their hearts
The Montreal group Jireh Gospel Choir will perform at Mondial Choral's Chapiteau-Theatre (located near Salle André-Mathieu) this coming Tuesday, June 26, at 8:00 pm. The four-voice fifteen-member choir, soon to celebrate its 10th year of providing audiences with exhilarating and inspirational music, has an extensive repertoire of original and traditional material, ranging from secular to sacred (spiritual), and from time-honoured gospel classics to contemporary gospel. "We're always in the mood for Happy Days," says founder and artistic director Carol Bernard, who draws frequent comparison with Whoopi Goldberg of the Sister Act movies. A show of wonderful promise not to be missed. Info: (450) 667-2040. (CathB.)
