Laval musician and singer Serge Bedrossian is unabashed about his love of sensitive music, the kind of heart-wrenching, soul-stirring lyrics and sounds that say so much about the human condition.
“We are all cut of the same cloth deep down. We live, we learn, we love, we suffer, we cope and in the end, we rejoice because we truly have no choice but to see in the agony of loss the ecstasy of having learned to love more, better and more profoundly,” Mr. Bedrossian told Courrier Laval Weekly News in an interview.
Set to launch a new CD, Serge Bedrossian will perform at the Place des Arts Studio-Theatre on Friday, October 26, at 8:00 pm. The new album, entitled Tu Pars (You’re Leaving) is a celebration of music in the tradition of Charles Aznavour. His concert at Place des Arts will feature songs in French and Armenian, the latter being one of the several languages he speaks and in which he happily sings.
Proudly describing himself as a ‘crooner’ in the style and spirit of Sinatra, Bennett, and of course his idol, Aznavour, the polished singer flashes gleaming eyes as he emphasizes he’s most happy when hen has a microphone in his hands and music playing behind him as he brings a little joy into the hearts of people sitting in front of him.
If you would like to enjoy Serge Bedrossian’s extensive repertoire of music of many languages and variations on the themes of love, passion, loss, gain, living and learning, you can catch him locally at Savario’s Restaurant on Labelle Blvd. this coming Wednesday, October 17, in an evening of French, Armenian, Italian and English songs, with many of his own compositions.
Tickets for his Place des Arts concert, where he’ll be accompanied by two other musicians, are $25 and can be obtained at (514) 842-2112. Serge Bedrossian can also be reached at (450) 963-7563 or at bedrossian@sympatico.ca His web site can be accessed at
