Commissioner Walter Fogel, a 48 year resident in the Chomedey area, has consistently served on the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB) and it's predecessor boards since 1975. His three sons attended local elementary and secondary schools and three of his grand children currently attend SWLSB high schools. Through his leadership and past professional experience the SWLSB has developed and implemented a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness program to ensure the security of its students and staff, putting it at the fore-front of school boards in Canada. With his participation, the SWLSB has implemented an educational program that has led to the highest graduation success rate in public high school leaving exams in the Laval Laurentides Lanaudiere region with the lowest drop-out rate; all the while demonstrating fiscal responsibility through balanced budgets.
