29-year-old Laval man shot dead in parking lot
Laval's firt murder of 2008 occurred overnight March 21, in Chomedey.
At 3:45 am, Friday morning, a call to Laval police from a 100th Avenue resident disclosed that several shots had been heard near his house.
Arriving on the scene in front of 1992, 100th Avenue, near Louis-Payette Avenue, police discovered the body of 29-year-old Laval resident Jeremy Brick lying in the parking lot of a condominium. Urgences-sante paramedics pronounced the man dead on site.
"The victim was shot several times, and there was nothing that could be done to save him," said Laval Police spokesperson Nathalie Lorrain. "That's why he wasn't even brought to hospital."
"He wasn't killed in front of his own residence, but in front of his girlfriend's house. She went into severe shock," said Mrs. Lorrain.
A firearm was found near the body. It has yet to be established whether this was the murder weapon.
According to investigators, Jeremy Brick was not known to police and had no priors on file. No suspect has yet been found.
