Baseball training already under way
Les Associés de Laval are already at work. Since the month of March, the team for the Quebec Junior Elite League is already training at the Marcel-Vaillancourt elementary school. However, the training camp officially took off last Sunday.
Head coach Guy Roy welcomed 15 players. "We count on our players from last season and a few midget AAA's. Some aren't here because they're in American Universities or at the ABC," he said.
Carl Moniz (Oklahoma), Alexandre Gagnon (Oklahoma) and Madison Rochon (Kansas) will miss the beginning of the season with the Quebec Junior Elite League. They're finishing their semesters at their respective American schools.
Three other members, Gabriel Thibodeau, Steve Charbonneau and Yann Charbonneau are part of L'Académie Baseball Canada (ABC). They just came from training at a camp in Florida. Gabriel and Steve are important assets to the team. Yann, Steve's younger brother, will start the season with the AAA midget team.
