Michel Veillette commits suicide
The Quebec man accused of murdering his wife and her their four children in Ohio, Michel Veillette, was found hung with a cloth in his cell last Tuesday morning.
A night time correctional officer found his body while doing his rounds. Michel Veillette was transported to the emergency unit of the Bethesda Arrow Springs hospital of Warren county, where he was pronounced dead.
@R:On January 11th of this year Nadya Ferrari-Veillette, 33, and her four children were found dead in their family residence in Mason, Ohio. According to the local police force, the 34 year old man stabbed his wife before setting the house on fire. In February, Michel Veillette pled not guilty to 15 counts of indictment.
The funerals for the Ferrari-Veillette family took place at Saint Martin's Day Church in Laval last February. Hundreds of family and friends came to say farewell to Nadya and her four children. In spite of the drama surrounding them, the family stated that they felt no resentment towards Michel Veillette.
The family sticks together
Even after this tragic event the family is remaining strong, said the spokesman for the Ferrari-Veillette family, Gilles Corriveau. On the subject of the public outburst of Nadya Ferrari’s aunt to crime reporter Claude Poirier on Tuesday, the spokesman said this was an isolated case and that her opinion does not reflect that of the family. "Everyone is together and nobody is blaming anybody. They have already been through a difficult few months, one that nobody was expecting. Quietly they are trying to rebuild our lives."
Even though the family did not wish for it to end this way, they are relieved that the ordeal that has been going on for months is over, said Mr. Corriveau. The body of Michel Veillette will be brought home by the Magnus Poirier funerary complex, but funerary arrangements are not yet known to authorities.
