The tenth "Route des fleurs"
For its tenth edition, the symposium of artists at the "Route des fleurs" have laid their theme: A heritage to protect and sustainable development measures.
On May 3rd and 4th, some 80 artists will install their easels in ten flower greenhouses in Sainte-Dorothée. Visitors can observe and chat with artists while bargaining to purchase paintings in person.

"We are going to place emphasis on fresh foods, biking, hiking, and the lovely family outing that the Symposium provides," said Sylvie Brazeau, president of the Quartier d’art de Cheval Blanc who coordinate the event.

With guided visits of the presentation, recycled paper making studios and ecological scrap-booking offered by Club 4H – all that’s needed is sunshine at the event, although each activity will function quite well in the case of bad weather.
Party favors
A souvenir booklet will be offered containing miniature versions of works that give homage to the artists and gardeners who have contributed to the evolution of the symposium. Also, a 10th anniversary cake awaits at Parc Gamache, the central area of the Symposium.
Coming together
Artists Reine Goodrow, Nicole Langevin, Lucie Lucas, Michelle Fraser and France Pomerleau hold similar opinions of the large annual meeting that is the Route des fleurs. For them, it’s an occasion to paint outside and to profit from a luminosity that brings them closer to nature. For others, it is the opportunity to salute artists from other areas, make connections, and smile at the spontaneity of visitors. They are unanimous: "It’s a chance to leave our studios."
Shuttles

Finally, it must be added that for this 10th edition, to which entrance is free, a free shuttle service has been put in place to move visitors around the site.
The 10th Symposium of artists on the Route des fleurs is on May 3rd and 4th, in the greenhouses of Sainte-Dorothée, as well as at Parc Gamache. Information : www.qacb.ca or 450-622-8446.
