Laval Liberty High School production of "Bye Bye Birdie" impresses Toronto producer
It is always a great sign when you are fully engaged and entertained by a production. There was not a single moment when my mind wandered away from this show!
The quality of production that Stephanie Pitsiladis and the Theatre Concentration Program at Laval Liberty High School is putting on stage is fantastic. I have watched these kids develop over the first year of this program and the rate of development is astonishing!
There are a number of students that I saw on that stage on Saturday that have a very bright future if they decide to pursue a career in this field.
It is such a great opportunity for them to be able to work with a professional actor (and one as good as Ms. Pitsiladis) and their hard work certainly paid off.
To have everything run perfectly - from the actors, to the sets, props and picture perfect scene changes - is an incredible feat by itself. To have such a high quality production on top of that is remarkable.
These students are being given an incredible building block. To go into their first year of college with what they are learning in this program gives them a huge advantage. Laval Liberty High School should be very proud to have such a successful component added to their curriculum that enriches the students and school as a whole.
