Laval at Fête Nationale parade
I would like to update your readers as to what I have been up to with personal appearances as Miss Teen Quebec 2008, a role I cherish, relish, and have learned much from in the past year.
At the beginning of the month I was invited to a Volunteers Gala of the Starlight (Children's) Foundation, followed one week later by a visit to Little Italy helping Starlight out with their annual Go-Karting event.
The week after, I was at their golf tournament. Talk about busy. My favorite appearance this month was the Fête Nationale parade. I was treated like a "Princess" while I was driven down the parade route in a Ford Thunderbird smiling for four hours while thousands of people snapped pictures.
While I was being driven, my wonderful father, Sam, was René Lévesque. He actually pushed the Giant 3.5 kilometers. It was something to see.
I am looking forward to many more events conducted by the Starlight Foundation, whose work with children is very close to my mind, heart, and soul. I feel privileged to be a part of such generous initiatives towards the needs and rights of children. I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in some of the lives of these younger members of our society who deserve our full attention.
It's a truly rewarding and personally enriching experience for me to be able to spend some time with some of these beautiful children whose precious needs are at the top of the list of the Starlight Foundation's mission of community service.
