Hoping for a perfect day at Golda Meir annual summer 'pot luck' lunch

"These weather forecasts are driving me absolutely crazy," says Evie Applebee, president of Golda Meir (Chomedey) Chapter of Montreal Hadassah-WIZO and host of the group's annual summer 'pot luck' lunch, postponed last week when every forecast had called for rain.

"As it turned out, it was a beautiful day, but too late for us to get together after we had cancelled the day before," says Mrs. Applebee, by way of informing everyone that the get together has been rescheduled for this coming Wednesday, July 30.

"I guess I'll have to talk to the big guy in the sky to bring us a perfect day, and hope for the best," says the irrepressible community activist who likes nothing better (almost, anyway) than to gather a few dozen of her friends for a mid-summer day's party.
