Ciao Italia! An invitation to Laval residents of Italian origin to explore their cultural and linguistic roots
Thank you for the informative and revealing report concerning the PICAI Program of Italian classes for Laval residents of Italian origin, published in the September 7 issue of Courrier Laval Bilingual Edition.

We at PICAI strive to provide quality learning activities and memorable experiences that not only put children ages kindergarten to senior high school in touch with their Italian traditions and culture but which also enhance their skills in Italian as a third language.

We are particularly encouraged by the response to our programs from the many Laval families who believe in the benefits their children can derive from this mini-school of Italian language and culture, and we are gratified by the positive feedback we get from the mothers and fathers who are so proud of their children's progress at any of the three centres PICAI operates on Laval island – at Laval Liberty High School (west), St. Paul School (east) and L'Odyssée des jeunes (north).

We would like all parents to know that although we held a registration session September 13 for residents of the western end of the island, we will continue to accept enrollment as the program gets underway. Classes for children and young people begin Saturday, September 20 at 9:00 am, at 3200 Souvenir.

And not to be missed: registrations are also being accepted for PICAI's excellent programs for adults at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

The year-long program (29 weeks) can be followed at a cost of $100 for children (to age 17) and $190 for adults. Students who remain in the program into the senior year of high school can obtain Ministry of Education credits upon completion of the required courses. As well, there are possibilities for those ages 12 to 17 to qualify for grants towards an educational visit to Italy.

We invite interested families to call us at (450) 668-5687 or (514) 249-4967 or write to us at romolo.chiarella@alfagomma.com for more information.
