$2 million over ten years for the Canada Games

Several headliners of Canadian sport, including Montreal Alouettes President Larry Smith (pictured), gathered in Laval this past Wednesday for an announcement concerning a new financial partnership with the Forzani Group which has one of its principal offices in Laval. The Forzani Group, which oversees the operations of several retailers in the sports equipment sector, announced a commitment of $2 million to the Canada Games Council, to be allocated in the next ten years. The news comes at a time when the Canada Games Council and the host corporations of the Canada Games of 2009 (Prince Edward Island) and 2011 (Halifax) are announcing their own corporate support for individual sports at these games.
