Benoît Beauchamp
The candidate
Of Laval origin, Benoît Beauchamp holds an Degree in History from the University of Montreal. He is presently studying Theology at the University of Sherbrooke while teaching History and the new course in Ethics and Religious Culture at Duval High School in Montreal. He was instrumental in the bringing about of the first collective bargaining agreement for bookstores in Quebec in 2000, when he was union president for workers at Renaud-Bray. He is also the author of two youth novels published by Éditions Grand Duc in 2005 and 2006.
A coordinator at Amnesty International, Benoît Beauchamp is also a militant in the Alter-Héros organization that works towards the demystifying of homosexuality among adolescents, in addition to being a member of the Coalition jeunesse montréalaise contre l'homophobie (Montreal Youth Coalition Against Homophobia).
