Laval's 12th annual Days of Culture a huge success
Laval's Department of Community Life, Culture and Communications is very proud of the unfolding of the latest edition of the Days of Culture on Ile-Jesus.
At a time when culture has come to the forefront of debate and discussion in the current federal election campaign, more than 2,000 people took advantage of the many activities that were part of this end-of-September festival of arts and culture, meeting artists, artisans, and cultural organizations in and around their neighbourhoods.
About forty free activities were made available at this annual autumn festival. In the various neighbourhoods, in public libraries, and at the Maison des Arts de Laval, residents could enjoy historical walking tours, rabaska outings, concerts, and workshops in sculpturing, painting, music, weaving, jewelry-making. Also available for viewing enjoyment were exhibits in photography and art.
With a program to suit many tastes, culture lovers could also have participated in percussion workshops, in slam with Biz des Loco Locass, attended numerous conferences on various cultural issues and interests and enjoyed dancing shows.
It was a time of pleasure and privilege and of special moments for both participants and artists and artisans.
