Laval island's three other non-cabinet MNAs have also been appointed by Premier Charest to various parliamentary responsibilities: Vimont's Vincent Auclair to assistant whip (duties he'll share with Lucie Charlebois of Soulanges riding); Laval-des-Rapides' Alain Paquet becomes parliamentary assistant to Premier Charest himself (sharing the post with Gatineau's Stéphane Vallée), and also returns to the post of President of the Public Finances Commission; Francine Charbonneau (Mille-Îles) takes on duties as parliamentary assistant to Immigration and Cultural Communities Minister Yolande James as well as membership on the Culture and Education commissions. The island's fifth Liberal MNA, Michelle Courchesne (Fabre) was re-appointed Minister of Education, Leisure and Sport, a post she had held since April 2007.
