Another home invasion in Laval
(Y.F.)A Laval couple in their sixties were the victims of yet another home invasion this past week.
The perpetrator, a black man, forced his way into the couple's home at 1694, Michel-Gamelin Street in Vimont. He gained entry at gunpoint.
The crime occurred at around 6:30 in the evening. The victimized couple were in the process of preparing dinner on their BBQ when the forcible entry took place.
After gaining entry, the suspect tied the couple up, inflicting minor injuries in the process. In an hour of thievery, he made off with jewelry, electronic equipment, alcohol, and cash.
Following the crime, the thief made off with the couple's car, later found abandoned at the intersection of René-Laennec and Ivan-Pavlov Streets, not far from the home he invaded.
Police are actively looking for the suspect, described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
It is strongly believed that the crime was committed by the same person who's pulled off nine of these home invasions in the Greater Montreal area, three of them on Laval island.
The last home invasion committed in Laval took place in Sainte-Dorothée, costing the life of Jacques Senegal who was slain when he attempted to resist the intruder.
