Serge Bélisle, Deputy Director of the Laval Police Force, is headed for Québec City where he’ll assume the post of Director of the old capital’s municipal police department.

Leaves Laval force after 28 years
In the next few weeks, the Laval Police Department will lose one of its highest-ranking officers with the departure of Deputy Director Serge Bélisle who is headed for the municipal police force in Québec City.
In the old capital, Mr. Bélisle will assume the post of Police Director as of the 1st of February 2007.
Mr. Bélisle leaves after 28 years on the Laval Police Force, having begun his long tenure of service in a patrol car. His rise to the post of deputy director came about mostly as a result of his work in the detective section of the force. On the force, Belisle served as the captain at Station 1, also serving as inspector and chief inspector in the criminal investigation division.
In recent times, Mr. Bélisle held the post of Assistant Director responsible for administration and operations. He was named Deputy Director in February of 2005. Mr. Bélisle, 48, has also been teaching Police Technology at Collège de Maisonneuve for the past seven years. He also teaches at the National Police Academy of Québec as part of a university program in police training.
