Three suspects arrested
Two young women were injured by gunfire erupting at around 5:00 am at the Red Lite after-hours Laval nightclub this past Monday. Three suspects appeared in court on Tuesday afternoon in connection with the incident.
The two gunshot victims were taken to Sacré-Coeur Hospital. Uch Shanbory, 20, who sustained a minor flesh wound to her leg causing little damage, was quickly released from the hospital.

The other victim, a teenager described as missing from her group home, suffered an injury to her foot requiring extraction of a bullet. Following the surgery she was returned to her group home.

Police investigators arrested three men in their twenties. They are Salvant Arly (26), Ghislain André-Jean (28) and Hilton Jeanty (24). A firearm was found in the car they were in. The suspects are known to police.

Laval Police spokesperson Nathalie Lorrain reports that according to eyewitnesses there was an altercation between Mr. Arly and another patron of this very popular dance hall. The two gunshots went off during the confrontation. The two young women who were hit were not targeted by the gunman.

For fear of causing a panic among the patrons, police did not evacuate the nightclub. “When we got there, we came upon 1000 people on the premises spread over several halls. The incident occurred during the hip-hop part of the dance. Most of the patrons were unaware of what was happening , Mrs. Lorrain explains.

Laval police officers blocked off the exits and searched and questioned each person as they left. The questioning continued for several hours into the afternoon.
